BANKING

CO-OPERATIVE BANK

Created:  25 March 2012 

The Co-operative Bank opened its first (and as yet, only) branch in Armada Way, Plymouth, on Thursday September 22nd 1977.  Mr Alfred Bassford, joint general manager, performed the opening ceremony in the presence of the Lord Mayor of Plymouth, Mr Ramsey Thonrton.  [1]

Mr Jerry McGuire, formerly of the Midland Bank in Manchester, was the first manager.  [1]
