WOODFORD METHODIST CHAPEL, PLYMPTON A Sunday School was started at the Woodford County Primary School on October 20th 1957. During the Second World War the old Bible Christian Chapel in East Street, Stonehouse, was destroyed and the war damage payment was used to provide a new chapel for the post-war estate at Woodford. Work started on a site on Monday August 18th 1958 and the foundation stone was laid on Saturday October 18th 1958. Woodford Methodist Chapel was opened and dedicated on on Wednesday July 29th 1959. The first Minister was the Reverend Eric W Baker. [1]
