ABC PLAZA CINEMA

Updated:  05 September 2011

The Plaza Cinema was taken over by the Associated British Cinemas Group in 1939, the licence being transferred to Mr A S Moss on September 23rd that year.

It would appear to have been renamed the ABC Plaza as from July 1st 1940.

The manager in 1941 was Mr Prynne Richards and in 1946 was Mr Stanley Holman.

The Associated British Cinemas (ABC) group sold the lease of the ABC Plaza to the Star Group of Leeds, who took over the management from Sunday March 23rd 1969.  On Thursday, September 11th 1969, it reopened under the name Studio Seven.
