WARNER VILLAGE LEISURE COMPLEX

The Warner Village Leisure Complex at Coxside, Plymouth, was opened on May 27th 1999.

This £40 million development by Citygrove Leisure on the site of the old gas works at Coxside, included a £15 million 15-screen cinema, the 24th Warner one in the country.  It had seating for 3,577 and boasted a THX sound system, the first outside London.

It was opened by film critic Mr Jonathan Ross and and supermodel Caprice, after which the Hugh Grant/Julia Roberts film "Notting Hill" was shown to 400 lucky prize winners in a local newspaper's competition.

The Warner Village Leisure Complex is now known as the Vue Cinema.
