TIMETABLE FOR TUESDAY MARCH 19th 1907 Mr John Parsons, of Millbrook in Cornwall, operated a ferry service from Mutton Cove, Devonport, to Millbrook. Some journeys ran to and from North Corner for the benefit of men working at the Royal Dockyard. The fare was one penny each way. This service was very dependant upon the tides and thus a daily timetable had to be issued. The one for Tuesday March 19th 1907, when high tide was at 8.56am and 9.10pm, indicated that the first boat left Anderton at 6.05am and South Down at 6.10am for North Corner. It left there at 6.25am and returned to Millbrook. There was then a break until 8am, when the boat left Millbrook for Anderton, South Down and Mutton Cove, where it was due to arrive at 8.25am. The boat left again at 8.30am for the 20 minute journey back to Millbrook. The 9.25am service from Millbrook ran via Anderton and South Down to Mutton Cove, from where it returned direct to Millbrook, arriving back at 10.35am. It departed again at 10.55am and repeated the journey, arriving at Mutton Cove at 11.20am. However, the return journey at 11.30am ran only as far as Anderton because of the receding tide. At 12.15pm the boat left Anderton for South Down and Mutton Cove and this time returned only to South Down, where it was due back at 1pm. The boat left South Down at 1.10pm for Mutton Cove. The timetable then shows three trips between Mutton Cove and Cremyll, at 1.45pm, 2.15pm and 3pm, but with no corresponding return workings, so it looks likely the boat did the first of those and stayed at Cremyll until it was required again, the other two trips probably being the Cremyll Ferry. The Millbrook Ferry started again on that day from North Corner at 4.10pm and ran to South Down. It left there at 4.35pm for North Corner. The 5.15pm from North Corner ran direct to Anderton, from where it returned at 5.35pm, calling at South Down on the way back to Mutton Cove. At 6.10pm the ferry started its last circuit, from Mutton Cove to Millbrook (6.40pm), then at 7.10pm back via Anderton (7.15pm) and South Down (7.20pm) to Mutton Cove (7.35pm), before the run home at 7.40pm, arriving back at Millbrook at 8pm.
