CORN EXCHANGE
TABLE OF RATES TO BE
CHARGED FOR THE USE OF
THE CORN EXCHANGE AND ROOMS ADJOINING, 1923
As from September 1st
1923 the following amounts were to be charged for the use of the Plymouth
Corn Exchange, all payable in advance:
- For a Ball or
Whist Tournament, 7 to 11pm, including use of adjoining rooms, £3 5s
0d;
- For a Ball or
Whist Tournament, 7 to Midnight, £4 5s 0d;
- For a Ball or
Whist Tournament until after Midnight, £1 10s 0d per hour;
- For a Concert,
£3 10s 0d;
- For a Lecture,
£3 3s 0d;
- For Teas and
Entertainments, including use of boiler and adjoining rooms, £ 3 10s
0d;
- For Dinners,
including use of adjoining rooms, £3 10s 0d; also 7s 6d for use of
stoves and 1s 6d per hour for gas;
- For Public
Political Meetings up to 3 hours, £5 or £3 3s 0d;
- For Meetings,
large room adjoining Corn Exchange, 7s 6d for 3 hours; 12s 6d for 6
hours; 15s all day;
- For Meetings,
either of the other adjoining rooms, for 3 hours, £2 2s 0d;
- For Meetings on
a Sunday, all day, £3 3s 0d;
- For Meetings,
afternoons or evenings, up to 3 hours, £2 2s 0d;
- For "At Homes",
including use of adjoining rooms, £3 10s 0d;
- For Sales of
Work or Bazaars, including use of adjoining rooms, £3 10s 0d;
- For Sales of
Work or Bazaars, large hall only, £2 2s 0d;
- For Sales by
Auction, including use of adjoining rooms, £5 0s 0d;
- For Sales by
Auction, large hall only, £4 0s 0d;
- For Sales by
Auction, large room adjoining, £1 0s 0d;
- For Rehearsals
for Concert, 10s per hour;
- For Luncheons (Corn
Exchange), £3 3s 0d;
- For Luncheons,
either of the two small rooms at the East Street entrance, 5s up to
2 hours; 2s 6d per hour afterwards;
- For use of
Special Platform and Covering, 5s 0d.
'The above charges do not include the sum charged for
any extension of Licence, which must be paid by the hirer'.
