On March 13th 1987 this memorial was unveiled on the wall facing the Mayflower Memorial on Plymouth's Barbican.
The marble memorial was created by Messrs Cantell & Endacott of Weston Mill, Plymouth. The two transport ships loaded their convicts at Plymouth and left to join the rest of the First Fleet at Prtsmouth, from where they set sail for Australia on May 13th 1787.
