PLYMOUTH MILLS

BIRCHAM MILL
This mill was in the parish of Eggbuckland.

BLAXTON MILL
This mill was in the parish of Tamerton Foliot.

BONE MILL
Alongside Drake's Mill on Tavistock Road was a bone crushing mill,
used for manufacturing glue.

BUDSHEAD MILLS
These mills were in the parish of St Budeaux.

CREAZA or CRESSER MILL
This mill was in the parish of Eggbuckland.

DEVONPORT & SOUTH DEVON STEAM FLOUR MILL
This mill was situated at Mutton Cove, Devonport.

DRAKE'S or DRAKE'S PLACE MILL
This mill was just below Drake's Place Reservoir.

EFFORD or GULLETT'S MILL
This mill was in the parish of Eggbuckland.

KING'S or LOWER GRIST MILL
This flour mill was located on the north side of the old Pound Street,
beneath what is now the new Arts Centre of the Plymouth University. 

LAIRA MILL
This mill may have been in the Extra-Parochial Lipson Creek.

LEIGHAM MILL
This mill was in Eggbuckland parish.

LIPSON or COMPTON MILL
This mill was in the parish of Charles within the borough of Plymouth.

LOUGHTOR MILLS
These mills were in the parish of Plympton St Mary.

MANOR or SOURPOOL MILLS
These were tide-mills in the marshland at the 'Sourpool',
between Plymouth and Stonehouse,

MARSH MILLS
These corn mills were in the parish of Plympton St Mary.

OLD TOWN or HIGHER GRIST MILL
This mill was below the Drake's Place Reservoir.

OUTLAND MILL
This was the only water-mill in the parish of Stoke Damerel.

POMPHLETT or ABBOTT'S MILLS
These mills were in the parish of Plymstock.

PROVIDENCE MILL
Providence Flour Mill was outside the Town Wall,
but within the parish of St Andrew's, Plymouth.

ROBOROUGH MILL
This mill was in the parish of Bickleigh, outside the present City.

STONEHOUSE BRIDGE MILL
This mill was in the parish of East Stonehouse.

TAMERTON or MANOR MILL
This mill was in the parish and village of Tamerton Foliot.

VALLETORT MILLS
Plymouth's only steam mills and the last to close.

WESTON MILL
The mill of the tything of Weston Peverel.

WIDEY or KNACKERSNOWLE MILL
This mill was in the north-west extremity of Eggbuckland parish.

WINDMILLS
There may have been four wind operated mills in the Plymouth area.
