NATIONAL OMNIBUS & TRANSPORT COMPANY Ltd

MOTOR BUS ROUTE "206"

PLYMOUTH to MEAVY

On Sunday January 1st 1928 the National Omnibus & Transport Company took over the Devon Motor Transport Company's service from Plymouth to Clearbrook and Meavy.

This service ran via Clearbrook and Hoo Meavy Church to terminate at the Royal Oak Public House, Meavy.

When service numbers were introduced in June 1928 this became service 206.  At the same time it was optimistically stated that Meavy was "for Burrator" in the hope of taking passengers away from the Great Western Railway's trains to Princetown.

The service was withdrawn in the autumn of 1928, coincidental with the opening of Clearbrook Halt on the Great Western Railway's branch to Tavistock and Launceston.
