MOTOR BUS ROUTE "218" PLYMOUTH to HIGHER COMPTON and EGGBUCKLAND On Sunday January 1st 1928 the National Omnibus & Transport Company took over the Devon Motor Transport Company's service from Plymouth to Higher Compton and Eggbuckland. When service numbers were introduced in June 1928 this became service 218. The timetable from January 3rd 1929 was:- From Plymouth at (Weekdays only) 8.10am, 9.10am, (Weekdays and Sundays) 10.30am, (Weekdays only) 11.10am, (Sundays only) 11.35am, (Weekdays only) 12.15pm, (Weekdays and Sundays) 1.10pm, 2.10pm, 3.10pm, 4.10pm, 5.10pm, 6.10pm, 7.10pm, 8.10pm, 9.30pm and (Wednesdays and Saturdays only) 10.30pm. From Eggbuckland at (Weekdays only) 8.35am, 9.48am, (Weekdays and Sundays) 10.50am, (Weekdays only) 11.40am, (Sundays only) 12.15pm, (Weekdays only) 12.40pm, (Weekdays and Sundays) 1.40pm, 2.40pm, 3.40pm, 4.40pm, 5.40pm, 6.40pm, 7.40pm, 8.40pm, 10.05pm and (Wednesdays and Saturdays only) 10.50pm. National's service 218 became Western National's service 79.
