WESTERN NATIONAL OMNIBUS COMPANY

MOTOR BUS ROUTE "87"

PLYMOUTH to PLYMPTON (St Maurice Church)

On Monday May 13th 1929 the Western National Omnibus Company formally took over the National Omnibus Company's service 210 from Plymouth to Plympton (Underwood) and 210A from Plymouth to Plympton (Colebrook).  From Wednesday January 1st 1930 these became Western National's service 87.

The service ran from Plymouth's St Andrew's Cross through Alexandra Road, Old Laira Road, Marsh Mills and the Ridgeway to St Maurice Church at Plympton.

It was reported in August 1941 that services to Plympton were being operated by a London-red 54-seat double-deck vehicle borrowed from the Brighton and Hove Omnibus Company.
