SOUTH DEVON TIMES,
PLYMPTON DISTRICT TIMES, IVYBRIDGE GAZETTE AND MOORLAND CHRONICLE
The South Devon Times, Plympton District Times,
Ivybridge Gazette and Moorland Chronicle was started in April 1921 as the
Plympton District Times and South West Devon Advertiser.
From May 1927 it was known as the South Devon Times,
Plympton District Times and Ivybridge Gazette and then from issue number 465
dated February 27th 1930 became the even longer South Devon Times, Plympton
District Times, Ivybridge Gazette and Moorland Chronicle.
What was by now commonly known as simply The South
Devon Times was last published on April 7th 1983.
The British Library Newspaper Library have a continuous
run of the newspaper from 1921 until 1983 but the Plymouth Library Service
only has actual copies from October 1966 until the closure.
