WINGFIELD VILLAS HALT (GWR)

Wingfield Villas Halt was located on the Devonport Junction side of the road bridge carrying Wingfield Road over the Great Western Railway main line and the Southern Railway main line towards Stuart Road.

The picture shows a Saltash Railmotor approaching the site, with the Southern main line running off to the right towards Devonport King's Road Station.

The Halt was opened from Wednesday June 1st 1904, when the Railmotor service started.

There are no known photographs of the Halt, possibly because it was an early closure, disappearing from the timetables in June 1921.
