RECONSTRUCTION

The Blitz of March and April 1941 devastated the centres of Plymouth and Devonport as well as wiping out much of Stonehouse.

Immediately a plan was set in motion for the reconstruction of Plymouth's city centre, leaving Devonport very much out of the running.

This page has now been split into three,

Any development after the completion of the Civic Centre is regarded as new development rather than reconstruction of the City.
