REGISTRATION DISTRICTS

EAST STONEHOUSE REGISTRATION DISTRICT

The Parish of East Stonehouse formed the East Stonehouse Registration District for Births, Deaths and Marriages, when that commenced on July 1st 1837.

Stonehouse's first Superintendent Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages for the was Mr Richard Rodd, of 48 Durnford Street.

The Registrar of Marriages was Mr Charles Chapple, of 22 Edgcumbe Street, while his deputy was Mr Thomas Tapp junior, also of Edgcumbe Street.

The Registrar of Births and Deaths for East Stonehouse was Mr John Capron, of 4 Clarence Place, Stonehouse.

The East Stonehouse Registration District was abolished on June 30th 1937, when it was amalgamated in to the Plymouth Registration District under Mr Walter Naylor, Superintendent Registrar.
