REGISTRATION DISTRICTS

When the registration of births, deaths and marriages started on July 1st 1837, the following Registration Districts were set up to cover the area now making up the City of Plymouth:

• Plymouth
• Stoke Damerel (later Devonport)
• East Stonehouse
• Plympton St Mary (later Plympton)

The following Registration Districts adjoin the present City of Plymouth but are not included in Plymouth Data:

• Tavistock
• Totnes
• St Germans (Cornwall)
• Liskeard (Cornwall)
