PLYMOUTH SCHOOL BOARD

SUBJECTS OF INSTRUCTION - INFANT SCHOOLS

The following were the subjects of instruction in infant schools run by the Plymouth School Board in around 1898 to 1900:

Elementary Subjects, Article 15 (A) to be taken throughout the School as set out in Schedule 1 of the Board of Education Code Reading
Writing
Arithmetic
Needlework (Girls)
Drawing (Boys) Froebel system
Singing by Note
Simple lessons on Objects
Phenomena of Nature and Common Life
Appropriate varied Occupations
Class Subjects, Article 15 B (i), to be taken by Classes throughout the School as set out in Schedule 2 of Board of Education Code -
Specific Subjects to be taken by individual children in Standards 5, 6 and 7 -
Subjects under Science and Art Department -
Additional Subjects -
