SUTTON ROAD BOARD SCHOOL

The Board School in Sutton Road, Coxside, was officially opened on the evening of July 12th 1875 by the Mayor of Plymouth, Mr W F Moore.

In 1888 the average attendance was 120 girls and 150 infants under Miss Florence Goodman and Mrs Lucy Trobridge [respectively.

At the time of the opening ceremony the cost of purchasing the site was said to have been £492 14s 4d and the cost of the buildings, £1,993 5s 10d.
