HONICKNOWLE PRIMARY SCHOOL

Created:  31 January 2012 

Honicknowle Primary School was located in Crownhill Road, at the junction with Little Dock Lane. 

It was formerly the Honicknowle Junior School, which had been opened by in 1938 Devon County Local Education Authority as the Honicknowle County Junior School and was transferred to the Plymouth Local Education Authority in 1939 when the City boundary was extended.  [1]

Honicknowle Primary School had open days on July 1st, 2nd and 3rd 1952.  [2]

The Headmistress in 1955 was Miss M Pearce (later Mrs Norton).  [3]

In 1983 the West Park Infants' School amalgamated with the Honicknowle Primary School to become West Park Primary School.
