MOUNT STREET ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, DEVONPORT

The Devonport British School for Infants was situated at the Wesleyan's Mount Street Mission Hall, in Mount Street, under Mrs Emily Penrose and later Miss Anne Bush.

It would appear that the School was acquired by the Devonport Local Education Authority, possibly as a result of the Education Act 1902.  It became the Mount Street Elementary School.  It was not long before it was replaced by the brand new Ker Street Infant School.
