CHARLES VOLUNTARY SECONDARY MODERN SCHOOL

Charles Voluntary Secondary Modern School was situated at Shaftesbury Cottages, Plymouth, between Deptford Place and Providence Street.  This was originally the Charles National Boys' School

On Wednesday October 16th 1963 the Lord Mayor of Plymouth, Alderman Harold M Pattinson CBE, laid the foundation stone of an extension that would provide a practical education block.

When Mr Charles Chapman retired in 1975 a Mr Stickland took over and remained until the School closed in 1986.
