SAINT BUDEAUX TELEPHONE EXCHANGE
In January 1912, when the General Post Office took over the National Telephone Company, Saint Budeaux was actually linked to the Saltash Telephone Exchange at 3 Belle Vue Terrace. The first manual telephone exchange at Saint Budeaux was located next door to number 1 Morris Park Terrace. It is believed that it was opened in 1930. A new automatic telephone exchange in Waverley Road, Saint Budeaux, was brought in to operation at 7am on Thursday August 20th 1959. There was provision for 1,000 telephone lines and this completed the automation of exchanges within Plymouth. Saint Budeaux numbers were allocated within the 30000 series.
