NEW PALACE THEATRE OF VARIETIES

SHOWS IN 1941

During the height of the Blitz in 1941, Mrs Mary Hoyle, the widow of the New Palace Theatre's long-time owner, Mr Thomas Hoyle, kept Plymouth's spirits up while all around her was being destroyed.  The entertainment she provided that historic year comprised:

Mrs Hoyle survived the worst of the Second World War but died on Saturday January 20th 1945, months before the Armistice.
