PLYMOUTH CORPORATION TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT

PLYMOUTH TRAMWAY ROUTES 1922

The full list of tramway services as operated by the Plymouth Corporation Transport Department from July 1922, with the fares in brackets, were:-

1     Theatre - Sherwell (1d) - Hyde Park (1½d) - Compton Lane End (Hender's Corner) (1½d)

2     Theatre - Sherwell (1d) - Hyde Park (1½d) - Peverell (1½d) - Milehouse (2d) - Fore Street (3d) - Edgcumbe Street - Union Street  - Theatre (4d)

NOTE: Routes 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, & 14 extended to Hoe & Piers as required.  Routes 9 & 9A were withdrawn later in 1923 but part of the route became service P between Guildhall - Mutley - Peverell.

 

FARES: The 3d single journeys on services 7, 11, 12 and 14 were 5d return.  The 4d single journey on service 14 was 6d return.

TICKET COLOURS:  1d white; 1½d purple; 2d  blue; 3d orange; 4d olive; 5d pink.  CHILDRENS: 1d blue & 2d green.
