DEPOTS

The Plymouth, Stonehouse and Devonport Tramways Company operated their fleet of horse trams from a depot in Manor Lane, Stonehouse.  This was accessed off Union Street, Plymouth, by a line that ran up the eastern, Plymouth, side of Manor Street, before swinging left in to Manor Lane.

When the system was electrified in 1901 a new depot was constructed in Market Street, Stonehouse, at the Devonport end of Union Street. This depot was accessed by a traverser.  The main building had six lines, each long enough for two tramcars.
